Earth Hour

We're now 6 minutes into Earth Hour and all is well. It's just my
daughter, my wife, my dog, myself and a candle. Oh and my iPhone too.

Just had yummy sushi at Miga. I now feel complete and fufilled. Life
can now continue and sustain. Ahhhhhhhhh!!!

It's a beautiful Friday afternoon and it feels great to be in full health again. Had a pretty hectic week a work seeing as I missed most of last week. Lotsa catching up to do but I think I'm finally all caught up! Well actually that reminds me. Got another task pending... BRB!

Ok I'm back! Well actually, I'm heading home. Done for the day. As Fred Flintstone would say "YAAABAADAABAADOO!!!!". I've got a lovely evening planned with my wife. Beer and Sushi. Fook Yah!!!!!

Spring is officially here and all the snow has melted off my deck. I
can't wait to cook up some gourmet veggie burgers after work.

I never thought I'd ever be where I am today. I can't imagine myself being anywhere else but here. I love where I am and who I am. This is where I'll be if you need me...

Desktop makeover...

For some odd reason, perhaps pure boredom, I decided to give my desktop a facelift last night. Spent a good 2 hours tweaking Windows Vista and came up with this. Was inspired from an article posted on lifehacker.com. Great site. Check it out when you can.

Rising from the dead...

No it's not Easter yet (although I'll probably go to hell for making the comparison) but I'm finally recovering from that damn flu bug. This past week has been such a waste. I was pretty much lying down 24/7. Hours would seem like days. The solitude was slowly driving me insane. I haven't been able to give kisses to my little girl all week. Been sleeping in the spare bedroom so I wouldn't disturb my wife. Mind you, sleep consisted of shut-eye for about 1-2 hours at a time. Wake up, pop some pills and spend an hour trying to fall back asleep. Oh and I can't forget the shivering and cold sweats throughout the night. Lovely...

Anyway, those nights are over with. I think ppl who have a cold tend to say they have the flu too easily. They need to realize that a cold will make you feel uncomfortable for a few days whereas a flu will seriously knock your ass to the ground. This week made me realize that I hadn't had the flu in a couple of years. I now have a greater respect for that microscopic monster.

On a positive note, I got to watch too much Regis & Kelly, Ellen Degeneres, Family Feud and of course Oprah. I can't wait to get back to work!!!!!!!!!!!

Btw, I noticed I have a few "followers". Cool!

Infected...

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I've been stricken with the worst flu ever. I can't remember the last time I was ill like this. I had a fever of 103.5 the other night. Haven't slept much these past 2 days. Been doped up on flu meds and good ole neocitran. It's been three days now and I still feel like a bag of shit. So no picture for today's post. I look like death at the moment. Time for me to go lie down again.

Had some friends from Toronto visiting this weekend. It was my bud's 40th bday so we went to Metal Night at James Street Pub. The whole crew came out. So great to see everyone all together again. Those moments are too few and far between.

And the Turkey stays...

So it looks like my little feathered friend has decided to set up shop
on our street. I made a WTF call to the humane society and aparently
it's now considered normal to see them in urban neighbourhoods.

Wild Turkey down the street...

On my way home from work I noticed a wild turkey on my neighbours roof. It's one of those days I wish my iPhone camera had a zoom on it. This is the best pic I could take. Can't say I remember the last time I came across a wild turkey in the city. I do remember drinking Wild Turkey bourbon though. Almost as yummy as Jack Daniels.

To guitar or not to guitar...

I spent the better part of today freezing in my basement while playing guitar. It's been a while since I really had a nice moment with my favourite instrument. I used to play 5-6 hours a day back when I was in my teens. Now I'm lucky if I can put in a solid hour or 2 in a week. I took adavantage of the time I had today and managed to record myself over a synth chord progression I whipped up. My chops aren't as good as they used to be so mistakes were plentiful. I recorded myself regardless and totally captured the mood I was in. Realized it didn't matter that my playing is a little rough these days. I'm still able to express myself through playing guitar and that means so much to me.

Been hanging out at the Brig with some cool chicks. Just tried some
deep fried pickles for the first time. An interesting experience I
must say.

So figured out what the problem was. Now I can continue living my life. Here's a picture of something I made while I was trying to resolve my blog issues. My daughter certainly got a kick out of it...
